ORTHOPHONIE (French Speech Therapy)
Orthophonistes (French Speech Therapists) are paramedical professional who assess and treat children and adults who are having difficulties with speech or language, as well as problems with communication, learning, and swallowing.
An orthophoniste helps also people suffering from a cognitive-communication disorder, which impedes a person from performing any communication skills that requires memory, perception, attention, organization or problem solving.
An evaluation is conducted before a therapy using a combination of standardized tests, parents interview and informal observation.
Based on the assessment, goals and objectives are defined with the parents.
The therapy is provided once to twice a week. Sessions are 45 minutes in length.
Therapy is as playful as possible with the little ones.
Assessment and therapy are conducted in French.
